When Hydro Jetting Is the Right Call
A snake is fine for a single clog. These are the jobs where jetting the line is the better fix.
The same drain keeps backing up
If a line clogs again weeks after it was snaked, there's buildup on the pipe walls. Jetting washes the walls clean so it stops coming back.
Grease in kitchen and restaurant lines
Grease coats the inside of the pipe and narrows it. A snake goes straight through it. A jetter scours it off.
Roots in the sewer line
Roots get into joints in older sewer lines and catch everything that flows past. Jetting cuts them back and flushes them out.
Still slow after the septic tank was pumped
If the tank is empty and drains are still slow, the line between the house and the tank is blocked. We hydro jet it clear.
What Hydro Jet Drain Cleaning Involves
A hydro jetter is a high-pressure water pump and a hose with a nozzle that sprays forward to cut through a blockage and backward to scrub the pipe walls and pull the hose along. It uses plain water, so it's safe to run into a septic system.

We go in through a cleanout or another access point on the line, so most jobs need no digging.

Jet the line
The nozzle works its way down the pipe, breaking up the blockage and washing grease, roots and sludge off the walls.

Flush it through
Everything we loosen gets flushed down the line to the sewer or septic tank.

Check the flow
We run water to make sure the line drains freely, and tell you if we found anything that needs a repair.

How much does hydro jet drain cleaning cost?
Hydro jetting starts from $199. The final price depends on how long the line is, how bad the buildup is and how easy it is to get into the line. You get the price before we start. For a simple clog, regular drain cleaning from $149 may be enough.
Is hydro jetting better than snaking?
For grease, roots and lines that keep clogging, yes, because it cleans the pipe walls instead of just opening a path through the clog. For a single blocked drain, snaking is usually enough and costs less.
Is hydro jetting safe for a septic system?
Yes. It uses only water, so there are no chemicals going into your tank. When drains are still slow after a pump-out, we jet the line between the house and the tank.
Is hydro jetting safe for old pipes?
Usually, but not always. Pipes that are already cracked, crushed or badly corroded can be made worse by high pressure. If we think a line is in that state, we tell you before we jet it.
Can hydro jetting remove tree roots?
Yes. Jetting cuts roots back and flushes them out of the line. Roots grow back through the same joints over time, so if a line keeps filling with roots, the joint or section may need repairing.
